The Wonderful Wig Company provides a fully inclusive service to help people get through their hair loss situation, whatever it may be. Whether it's due to chemotherapy, alopecia, genetics, pattern baldness, gender transition, stress or just for fashion, The Wonderful Wig Company pride themselves on finding the right hair solution. They are the only independent salon to be awarded a space on the NHS national framework.
Nicola Wood is the founder of The Wonderful Wig Company. In May 2016 Nicola was diagnosed with breast cancer and was treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Newcastle. Nicola’s cancer led to a personal struggle with body image concerns. Nicola found that good wigs and a good service were difficult to come by. It was then she decided to combine her skills as a hairdresser with her passion for helping women like her. She founded The Wonderful Wig Company in 2017.
